PM too taxed to reply
06-October-2011

“Today marks three months since I wrote to the Prime Minister inviting her to personally explain the Government’s planned Carbon Tax to the people of Farrer.
To this day, I have not received a reply.
Next week, the Parliament is due to vote on the Carbon Tax legislation.
Julia Gillard pledged she would ‘wear out her shoe leather’ trying to sell this tax to Australian industry and households. Unfortunately this seems just another commitment the Labor leader was prepared to break.
Perhaps then, the PM was correct when promising ‘there will be no carbon tax under
the government I lead’. Any true leader would not have allowed Bob Brown and the Independents the freedom to take over running the country.
The Carbon Tax has the Prime Minister singing directly from the Greens songbook.
This week’s tax forum flop was at the behest of the Independent cross benchers.
When returned to office, the Coalition will tax less and spend less, which will reduce cost of living stress and ease upward pressure on interest rates. We’ll also put forward a climate change policy that won’t force up the cost of electricity, petrol and food.
That is the leadership this country needs right now.”
