A Message to Farrer's flood Affected Communities

To all those adversely affected by the recent dramatic and unforseen deluge,
I offer my heartfelt concern and compassion.
Given so much of our attention during recent years has been centred on a lack of timely and seasonal rainfall, it is cruelly ironic our region now faces a costly clean up by a dramatic reversal of the drought.
I particularly feel for those farmers throughout the Farrer electorate who were just weeks away from a bumper harvest and I urge you to find time to seek the available assistance provided by both State and Federal Agencies.
It has already been announced the Commonwealth will provide financial assistance to New South Wales communities affected by the flooding along with ensuring you receive the support needed. Please contact my office if I can help.
May I also take this opportunity to express appreciation and gratitude to each of the Local Government and Emergency Services personnel who assisted those in need during the past week.
