Youth Allowance changes
Changes to the Youth Allowance eligibility criteria will greatly impact on many rurual and regional students. The changes were passed through Parliament last week. Details on exact classifications for some areas are still a little sketchy. I will be working towards ensuring that eligibility criteria is fair. If you have specific issue or queries please contact me by email or by phone to my electorate offices.
Electricity prices will increase under Rudd CPRS
Confirmation by the NSW pricing regulator that retail electricity prices will increase by around 60 percent in Southern NSW and Riverina if Labor’s CPRS is implemented is very bad news for consumers and industries in the Farrer electorate, Federal Member for Farrer, Sussan Ley said today.
The unreasonable increase in electricity charges, shows why the Rudd Government must abandon its deeply flawed and discredited CPRS scheme.
In rural and regional NSW it is just one hit after another. The drought and consistent job losses are bad enough for rural Australia, but now to blatantly increase prices for basic household electricity is unbelievable.
